اسلام آباد( نمائندہٴ جنگ)جامعہ حفصہ اور لال مسجد کے مہتمم مولانا عبدالعزیز نے کہا ہے کہ پیر کے روز صبح ساڑھے دس بجے آرمی کا ہیلی کاپٹر جامعہ حفصہ اور لال مسجد کے اوپر انتہائی نیچی پرواز کی اور اس سے مدرسے میں زیر تعلیم طالبات پر اعصاب شکن کیمیائی گیس پھینکی گئی جس سے کئی طالبات بیہوش اور سینکڑوں طالبات گھٹن کا شکار ہوگئیں ۔

ہیلی کاپٹر کی پرواز کے دوران سوئزر لینڈ کی خواتین جرنلسٹس جامعہ حفصہ میں موجود تھیں انہوں نے اس موقع پر صحافیوں کو بتایا کہ ہم جامعہ کے اندر موجود تھیں اور طالبات اپنی کلاسیں لے رہی تھیں کہ اچانک ہیلی کاپٹر سے کلاس روم پر اعصاب شکن کیمیائی گیس پھینکی گئی۔ ہیلی کاپٹر 20منٹ سے زیادہ پرواز کرتا رہا ۔ گیس کی بو کی وجہ سے کئی طالبات بے ہوش ہوگئیں‘ خود ہمارے گلے بھی بند ہوگئے اور ہم پرنیم غشی طاری ہوگئی۔

مولانا عبدالعزیز نے صحافیوں سے باتیں کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ ان حالات میں حکومت سے مزید مذاکرات جاری نہیں رہ سکتے۔ لگتا ہے حکومت مذاکرات کی آڑ میں آپریشن کی تیاری کر چکی ہے ۔ حکومت ایک طرف مذاکرات کر رہی ہے اور دوسری طرف ہمارے طلبہ کو گرفتار کیا جارہا ہے ۔ اس واقعے کے فوراً بعد لال مسجد میں علاقہ کے لوگ جمع ہوگئے اور لال مسجد میں مقیم طلبہ ڈنڈے ہاتھوں میں لے کر سڑک پرنکل آئے اور حکومت کے خلاف شدید نعرے بازی کی

ISLAMABAD: Army helicopters hovered over the Jamia Hafsa and Lal Masjid and released gasses, claimed Principal of the seminary Umme Hassan here on Monday. Army sources, however, said the personnel on board the choppers were taking photographs of the seminary. “A number of minor girls fainted,” alleged Umme Hassan. “Girls were in their classrooms when the helicopters began circling low over the Madrassa and started spraying gasses through the classroom windows,” she told The News shortly after the incident.

Most of the girls managed to climb onto the rooftop but minor students fell unconscious after inhaling the mysterious gas, she alleged. Umme Hassan said there were three helicopters, two with Pakistani flags and the third without any marking, hovering over the Madrassa. “They were flying so low that we could see uniformed men in the cabins. Ropes were also dangling from the choppers, perhaps to be used for capturing some students.”

The incident happened when the principal was busy giving an interview to a foreign television channel. “The women interviewing me are witness to the attack; they helped many of the fainted girls recover,” she added.

Locals rushed to the seminary to assist the students in whatever way they could, witnesses said. Following the incident, many girls ended up with bad throats and skin and eye irritation, Umme Hassan said.

She said the past record of the administration shows that the government always negotiated to cool down the situation before taking action. “It seems that they are adopting the same policy with us now.” “The students usually don’t observe full Purdah (veil) when they are in their classrooms so taking their pictures is wrong,” she said.

He said a Swiss female journalist, who was also present inside the seminary, had also confirmed that chemical gas was sprayed from the helicopter. Ghazi said it was a condemnable act aimed at sabotaging the process of talks between the Lal Masjid management and the government.

Ghazi said he also talked to PML President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain on the issue. “Chaudhry Shujaat has also expressed his anger and surprise over the latest development,” he said. About the road blockade by the students in front of the Jamia Hafsa and Lal Masjid, he said they had received a complete plan of military action and thus blocked the road in protest. He said Shujaat has promised to investigate the incident. To throw chemical gas on innocent people is also a violation of international laws. “I demand of the international community to take notice of the incident,” Ghazi said.
